Anyone know alot about tongue piercings ?

so i want to get my tongue pierced and i went to one place to get it done and they told me that my web under my tongue goes up to far and they couldnt peirce it, but then i went to another place with my friend was she was getting her belly on done and i asked them and they said it wouldnt be a problem to do. I was kinda wierded out cause the other place told me it couldnt be done at all. I just wondering if anyone knows anything about that if its ok or not. i dont wanna get it done and then lose my taste buds or something ****** like that haha. anyways anyones comments, experience or knowledge about it will help thanks!
