Does this story seem too dark for a seventh grade narrative project?

Nope, doesn't seem too dark at all! Very interesting, maybe a bit more detail in some parts, and a bit more story before Tally opens the door. Add some commas to your dialouge, and still, a bit more suspense. Over all very good job.
