Navy Corpsman?? Not a Marine Medic?

Ok so I just dept on at Meps as a corpsman an people were telling me that I'm going to be a medic fighting side by side with the marine units an I do not want to do that at all. I just want to work in a navy hospital travel an go to college. So can I chose to be with the marines or not
