Alleriges or viral?

I have seen a wide outbreak of just about the same health symptoms in the past 2 weeks where I live. My husband began with a sore throat, he sounds like lurch when he talks, sinus pressure but no stuffiness, headache. My neice lost her voice with the same symtoms and we weren't even around her. I went to the store and an employee complained of this very same thing, she sounds hoarse. My neighbor has the same thing going on. We have had allergies in ppl who never had them before, including myself. But I have never seen so many at one time have the same thing like this with mostly targeting the throat. Anyone else in other states know of anyone who is experiencing similar?
